I've always been interested in this technology. I'm glad that I had the opportunity through this training to learn about RSS and subscribing to blogs and news feeds.

Thing 5: Instant Messaging

I was a little confused by this one. I was able to follow the instructions and add contacts but after that I didn't know what to do. I think that I just expected my contact to start chatting with me and couldn't figure out how to initiate the chat. Then finally I saw the little box on the bottom and was chatting with 2 people simultaneously. Wow I feel like a teenager. My contact name for gmail googletalk is beverlyjww.

7 1/2 habits of successful lifelong learners

The hardest habit for me to achieve might be #4 to

"Have confidence in yourself as a competent,effective learner."

because I don't have a lot of confidence in myself.

The easiest habit is #6

"Use technology to your advantage."

because I like to use and learn new technologies.

Don't make me think! a common sense approach to web usabiltiy by Steve Krug. 2nd Ed c. 2006 New Riders Press. This is a great book that gets to the point. If you need to get up to speed on web usability quickly this is the book for you. Find it at the Hastings Public Library
